If i were: Ghembe Munthali
Karonga South Member of Parliament, I would realise that swearing in the august House is dishonourable conduct not befitting an MP.
If only I were Munthali, surely I would realise that Parliament is serious business and not another version of a pub or beer hall where I can scream such sickening words.
How I wish I were the MP that is Ghembe, because I would ask myself whether I am suitable to represent my constituents, considering my deplorable conduct.
If only I were that ‘dishonourable’ MP, I would realise that even if I said that in the heat-of-the-moment, my conduct was unacceptable.
I would recall that former parliamentarian for Likoma George Nga Ntafu became infamous for using words like ‘agalu inu’ and ‘stupid’ in the honourable House.
I would further appreciate that the ‘F’ word is not only obscene, but also highly offensive.
That is if only I were that MP. Fortunately, I am not one Ghembe Munthali.
